5 Days Tours From Marrakech To Fes Via Merzouga Sahara Desert

The tour starts with hotel pick up. We visit Unesco site of Ait Benhaddou, and explore Dades and Todra Gorges and we enjoy night in Merzouga desert including camel ride, Sandbording and watching desert sunset and sunrise. we will see also the palm groves of Ziz Valley, Cedar Forest and Ifran known as the little European town.

Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Pick up at the hotel or riad. We will head towards the High Atlas, this range has the highest altitudes around North Africa. In the higher elevations in winter and well in tospring, you can enjoy the snow. We will continue to the fortified city called Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987 and where various famous movies have been made as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy
We will arrive to Ouarzazate where the major film studios are all Morocco. You will have dinner and spend the night in Ouarzazate.

Day 2

Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

After breakfast, we will spend the morning to see the film studios where many films are taxed as: The Wars, The Mummy, Gladiator …Later we will departure to the Kasbah of Taourirt, a World Heritage Site, full of towers and walls. Inside the Islamic and Jewish religion are mixed. We will continue down the road of Thousand Kasbash, through the great palm Skoura, accompanied by hundreds of Kasbash that we will see along the way. Let’s enter the Dades Valley and we will admire the hundreds of kasbash dotted along the route. We will continue on river road entering the narrow valley. We will make a stop to enjoy it. Here you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3

Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast we will depart through Todra Gorges, through the vast palm grove of Tinerhir, where agriculture stand out, date palms, crafts … Later we will arrive at the gorge. Here we can see the spectacular landscape that for thousands of years has beenforged thanks to the river that crosses it.Then we will drive to Merzouga, where will you leave your luggage at the hotel and will go to the desert by camel. Once in the Haima, you will have dinner, hear the drums echoing in the desert night and lie down in the tent.

Day 4

Merzouga – Tour in the Dunes – Khamlia – Desert

The next morning we will wake up early to watch the sunrise. At midday we will visit anomadic family. And eat under the shade of a tree, you will see how the Berber pizza ismade and then will taste it. After lunch you will rest a while and later we will make a route through the desert. We leave to see an oasis in the desert in 4×4, also visit the town of Khamlia (village of theblacks) mines of MIFISS, and you will meet the Berber nomads of the desert … Then you shall return to the Haima, you will have dinner, play music again and will be staying in thetent.

Day 5

Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forest – Fes

After the camel back, a good shower and a good breakfast we will go to Fez. We will cross Errachidia and then we will go to the Ziz Valley, we will see what the river has built for thousands of years eroded the rock and leading to large palms and adobe villages. Later we will go through Ifrane, where is the Cedar Forest, here we can see a lot of monkeys where we can feed them and enjoy the many cedars that brings this forest.
